Volume and brightness, in the notch

MacOS draws a big overlay when you tap volume or brightness. Noggin can take those keys instead. The system indicator never appears. The level shows in the Dynamic Island.

MacOS draws a big overlay for volume and brightness.

Turn it on

  1. Settings → Notch → Volume and brightness bars.
  2. Off by default. Turn it on, then tap volume or brightness.

What you need

  1. Sonoma and Sequoia use an event tap. Tahoe remaps the keys so the system HUD never draws.
  2. Accessibility in Settings → Permissions makes hold-repeat extra reliable. You can skip it and still get single taps.

Noggin Lock’s shortcut, ⌃⌥G, is not swallowed by the volume handler. Noggin still locks and unlocks.
