What Noggin Lock is, and how to use it

Hover on Noggin usually opens home. That is a problem in a game, a match, or a full-screen app: the pointer kisses the top of the screen and Noggin expands. Noggin Lock keeps the notch closed. The lock icon lives on the Dynamic Island. ⌃⌥G works from any app, even when you are not touching Noggin.

Install it

Noggin Lock is a library module. It is a notch icon, not a tile.

  1. Open Settings. Modules has a Go to Library button. Or tap Library under Add shipped modules in jiggle.
  2. Install Noggin Lock from Settings → Library. A gold lock appears on the notch.

Turn it on

  1. Tap the lock icon on Noggin. A short toast says Noggin Lock is on.
  2. Or press ⌃⌥G from any app. You do not have to click Noggin first.
  3. Hover now stays closed. Noggin only grows ears, with the lock on the right.
  4. Clicking Noggin does not turn it off. That is the point. Press ⌃⌥G to unlock. A toast says Noggin Lock is off.

Lock stays on across relaunch until you turn it off. Clicking the idle notch shows the toast instead of opening home.

Use it in a game, a match, or any full-screen app where the pointer rides the top of the screen. Unlock when you want Noggin back.
