Record in the notch. Keep the take.

Voice memos is a notch icon, same pattern as Pocket. The coral mic opens a recorder. Tap to capture, expand a row to rename it, add a note, star it, or save an MP3 to Downloads.

Click the notch for home.

The actual moves

  1. Install Voice memos from Settings → Library. It shows up as the coral mic on the notch, not a home tile.
  2. Click the notch, then the mic. Tap the big mic to record. Tap again to save.
  3. Open a row. Rename it, add a note, star it so favorites sort first.
  4. MP3 writes to Downloads. That needs ffmpeg, same as Spotify save. If the tile asks, brew install ffmpeg.

Allow microphone in System Settings the first time. Delete removes the file and its note. Memos live in ~/Library/Application Support/Noggin/Memos.

Use it for a lecture aside, a reminder you do not want in a note app yet, or a take you later drop into a doc as MP3.
